"Le Petit Lord Fauntleroy" (titre original : "Little Lord Fauntleroy") est un roman pour enfant de Frances Hodgson Burnett. Il a été publié sous forme de feuilleton dans le journal "St. Nicholas Magazine" en 1885 puis sous forme de livre en 1886. Ce fut le grand succès du feuilleton dans le journal qui mena à sa publication sous forme de livre en 1886, qui remporta aussi un grand succès ainsi que ses illustrations par Reginald Birch. "Le Petit Lord Fauntleroy" marqua également un précédent dans les lois sur le copyright en 1888, quand son auteur gagna un procès pour obtenir les droits sur les adaptations de son œuvre au théâtre. En France, le roman fut traduit et publié pour la première fois en 1888 sous le titre "Le Petit Lord". It was originally published as a serial in the "St. Nicholas Magazine" between November 1885 and October 1886, then as a book by Scribner's in 1886. The accompanying illustrations by Reginald Birch set fashion trends and "Little Lord Fauntleroy" also set a precedent in copyright law when in 1888 its author won a lawsuit against E. V. Seebohm over the rights to theatrical adaptations of the work.
