The funeral is over, the people have all gone home, and everything is finally quiet. Laura heads out into the still night and lays down on the dew soaked grass. Staring up into the sky, she places her hand on her swollen belly. Her baby will be arriving soon. As her clothes begin to soak through, Laura ponders how she will raise this child alone.
Twenty-six year old Laura Miller has a life most would envy: a wonderful husband, a successful career, a spectacular condo in the city, and a baby on the way. But when her husband is killed by a drunk driver less than a month before Laura‘s due date, all that she has is suddenly taken away. Desperate to escape her despair, Laura decides she must leave her broken life behind. With her four month old baby boy in tow, she heads north to small town Still Lake, where new friendships and new passions arise as Laura believes she is moving on. But what she is about to discover is that you can never truly move forward without taking a long look back.
