It is 1984 on mainland Britain, where a series of fatal events bear the traits associated with coordinated lawless activities. Steven Oldfield, a freelance business accountant, finds himself unwittingly drawn into the perilous world of assassination and destruction, becoming embroiled with an unaffiliated group of radicals, intent on bringing down the Government. Induced by the egregious and alluring charm of four enigmatic women from this cabal, Steven succours to their needs, yet throughout, questions their integrity. All inexplicably named Athene, they enter Stevens life in some form of apparent perpetual succession, acutely unsympathetic to a free and modern society. They answer solely to a dangerously ambivalent leader calling himself Zeus. But Steven seriously doubts the mans objectives. Have this quartet of acolytes been duped by his guile and perversion? Are their thoughts distorted by delusions that Zeus has invented to shroud his own desires and ambitions? And more importantly, can the authorities exact their own defences in time to prevent further bloodshed occurring? Robert Done was born in the northwest of England, living there until his mid-twenties. He now resides in rural Oxfordshire, where he works as a chartered mechanical engineer in the exacting field of scientific research. He has published various technical papers during his career and presents training courses on many of the specialist subjects he practises. He devotes much of his leisure time to the writing of fiction novels embracing contemporary social subjects.
