Eighteen year old April Young ran down the stairs in her new summer bikini, intent on celebrating the last day of high school with her friends swimming and stuffing their faces by her parent’s in ground pool. April was excited to finally be thought of as an adult, which in her naivety believed graduating high school to be the pinnacle of her entrance into adulthood. Her mom and dad had bugged her to go to college, but she just wanted to hang out with her friends, a kind of continuation of high school without the school work. As she ended up talking with her friends around the pool she asked if Brianna or Tina wanted to sleepover, stay up and watch scary movies or do some prank calls.
“Eww, no April, what are you 12 years old?” sniffed Tina.
“Seriously April,” chimed in Brianna, “we’re going to the Club Rodeo and dance tonight, hopefully meet up with some of the guys.”
“I thought Club Rodeo was for 21 year olds and besides, it’s far away, clear to Dallas” protested April.
“They stamp your hand doofus, that way you can dance and usually get all you want to drink, and Dallas is like 30 minutes away,” Brianna explained exasperated with her friend.
“You mean like alcohol?” April doubtfully inquired.
“Yeah, if you want to drink alcohol usually the guys have some for you, you just have to be careful to not be seen,” Tina impatiently moved the conversation along, “so, that’s where we’re going, do you think you can get away from your smothering parents for one night? You’re such a little miss good girl April, c’mon and live a little. Don’t forget you’re an adult now, right Brianna?”
