Lance Franklin, well-known as Buddy Franklin, is a professional Australian Rules footballer in the Australian Football League (AFL) who regularly plays as a center half-forward. Buddy played for Hawthorn from 2005 to 2013.

 

Recently Franklin joined the Sydney Swans. He is predicted to debut for the Sydney Swans in Round 1 of the 2014 AFL season in the Sydney Derby against crosstown rivals Greater Western Sydney at Skoda Stadium. In 2014 he will last to wear the number 23 that he formerly wore for Hawthorn.

 

In his career he earned many awards like Hawthorn premiership player, Coleman Medalist (2008, 2011), All-Australian (2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012), Hawthorn Best & Fairest (2008), Hawthorn Best & Fairest Runner-Up (2010), Hawthorn leading goal kicker (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012), Phil Manassa Medal for AFL Goal of the Year (2010), AFL Rising Star nominee (2005), Dream Team representative (2008) and Deadly Award for Most Outstanding Achievement in AFL (2007, 2008)
