After college, he polished his craft at Amazon, creating new shopping experiences and making the website faster. Today, he is connecting the world through games at Zynga.

In his spare time, Derek likes to create in the physical world, whether it be with arduino, wood, or lego. On a rainy day, he can be found in a cafe lurking on Hacker News or engrossed with a good book.
