Keyhole Stories is the result of the collaborative effort of 15 writers. We come from a wide variety of back- grounds, but what we have in common is the experience of living in Stockholm for some period of time in our lives, and an interest in writing ction in English. We have all taken creative writing courses at Skrivareakademin at Folkuniversitetet in Stockholm taught by Kevin Frato. It was Kevin who gathered us all in January 2015 and proposed the idea of writing a collection of short stories together. A special thanks goes to him.
The concept for this collection was that each writer was assigned a at in an old rental building on the island of Södermalm in central Stockholm. It was up to each of us to populate our at with one or more characters and tell a story about them. We were all surprised to discover how differently each of us handled the chal- lenge––what vastly different stories we chose to tell. This book includes stories about the very young, the very old and many ages in between; the full gender spectrum; good guys and bad guys; and, of course, love and broken hearts. It raises questions about who we are, what we want, and what we’re all doing here in Stockholm, and in the world.
We had a great time writing this book, and we hope very much that you will get as much enjoyment out of reading it.
