This is the story of Kenya J. Thomas. She and her two best friends work together to find her favorite book that she couldn't find. Using teamwork and compromising skills, Kenya, Tommy and Darcey-Anne find Kenya's book.
Book excerpt:
Kenya J. Thomas was at school at Hopeful Beginnings Elementary School, reading to her fellow first grade friends, Tommy and Darcey-Anne. She was reading her favorite book in the whole wide world! The name of the book was “Princess Jellice Helps Out.” The book was about a little princess who helped save her father’s kingdom from an evil witch who was trying to destroy the village. The Little Princess Jellice was very small in size, but very large in heart. Kenya wanted so much to be just like Princess Jellice.
She read aloud, “And Princess Jellice became known as Queen Jellice throughout the whole kingdom of Alexandria and lived happily ever after,” Kenya said as she closed her now favorite book and smiled.
“That was the most beautiful book I have ever heard,” Darcey said as she wiped away tears from her eyes.
