Juliette, an Adelie Penguin, starts by wanting more and more presents and is never happy. She meets another Emperor Penguin, Sallie, and finds out that Sallie only has a couple of presents. Through a discussion with her Uncle Joe, she learns what the difference between need and want is and asks her parents if she can wrap up her toys, that she no longer plays with, and give them to Sallie's family. Once she sees the joy on Sallie's families faces, she realizes that it feels better to give than it is to receive.
