As she and her partner, Logan, approach the village where they were sent to spread the word and influence of splicers, she must find a way to make the bandit appear like a harmless visitor while also protecting an entire population from his murderous potential.

“Fair enough!” Toole said. “Then you can’t lose. Am I right?” He had yet to stop grinning. “In fact, there’s Rule Three for ya. I hadn’t invented that part yet, so thanks.”
Palloroak’s eyes narrowed like the blunt edge of a blade vanishing against a grindstone. “Why would you need to invent rules? I thought you said the people from your homeland play this game.”
“The people from my homeland,” Toole said, “are also filthy liars.”
