His cover of The Beatles' A Little Help from My Friends reached No. 1 in the U.K. in 1968. He performed the song live at Woodstock in 1969. His 1975 hit single You Are So Beautiful reached No. 5 in the US. Joe Cocker was the recipient of several awards, including a 1983 Grammy Award for Up Where We Belong, a duet with Jennifer Warnes.
