The iPad is perfect for Facebook, watching movies, editing photos—but writing? If you want to replace your laptop with your iPad then chances are you’ll want to be able to use it as a Word Processor. How practical is that, however? You might be surprised. Pages for the iPad isn’t exactly Microsoft Word, but that isn’t necessarily a terrible thing. For basic writing and editing, Pages can be a superior processor. This handbook will help you get the most of Pages by showing you all the main features.

Instead of just explaining what (and where) all the features are, I am going to take a hands approach by having you follow along with me as I create a document from scratch.

This book is based on Pages 1.6.2; at this printing, this version (which came out September 19th) is the newest version of Pages.

It should be noted that while this book references the iPad version of Pages, Pages for the iPhone / iPod Touch is practically identical, so the steps in this book may also be applied to Pages for the iPhone or iPod Touch.
