Introduction by Henry Jenkins, ex-director of MIT’s Comparative Media Studies program and now a member of USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and School of Cinematic Arts. Jenkins is a live wire who has a huge following in the media and literati so his intro will bring this anthology a new level of attention. Contributions from authors with followings among both mainstream and genre fiction readers. Contributors come from all over the country (i.e. New Jersey, Minneapolis) so we can send galleys out to bookshops there and expect it to get some attention. The rotating editorship means that there is a fresh and enthusiastic new editor for this volume. (If all goes well, Christopher Barzak and another new editor will edit the next volume.) Christopher Barzak is one of the Rabid Transit (aka Ratbastards) editorial group so he has many some experience in working hard to get an anthology out there. Second book in a fascinating series. Interfictions 2 will build on the brand awareness created by the first Interfictions anthology and should ship out in greater numbers than the first one, all the while pulling it along with it.
