The ides of March was a date on the Roman calendar (Idus Martias) corresponding with our date of 15 March. It was a fateful date; best known as the date on which Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 B.C. Friday 15 March 2013 AD was an equally fateful date at the Grand Theatre, Easter Village, where the Shakespeare play Julius Caesar was being performed on the opening night of its run. In Act 3, Scene 2, where Caesar is assassinated onstage, the actor playing the lead role promptly falls backwards onto the stage clutching a blood-stained dagger protruding from his stomach. Miss Tayke offers her services but is rebuffed by the chief CID officer in no uncertain terms. After several hours of unfruitful investigation the police are flummoxed, recant, and ask for Miss Tayke’s assistance. Unbeknown to them she has carried out her own secret investigation and in the onstage finale she exposes the knife wielding assassin from among the cast members…
