Over 20 million women in the United States alone, are suffering from some type of hair loss.  That’s why it is so important for stories like mine to be heard. Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is the most common form of hair loss in women. This type of hereditary hair loss can begin any time after puberty and usually occurs, if at all, before the age of forty. For me it began when I was 28.

In the book I share with you about how my hair loss began, the emotional effects of hair loss ranging from anxiety and depression, to frustration and poor self-esteem. I also feature the work of the stylists I have seen over the years; the breakdown of thousands of dollars I have spent, and recently deciding to have permanent cosmetics for my eyebrows.

I want to thank my family and friends for the support they have given me over the last eighteen years. They have been major influencers in helping me throughout every stage of alopecia. Writing this book was empowering and made me feel like everything I have been through was worth it.

Most importantly, I hope that this book will help others living with alopecia.
