From the Author: Why I wrote this book:
I wrote this book when I hadn’t seen a very close friend for about ten years. Her and her husband came to visit me for a week. I noticed immediately that they didn’t touch, kiss, or show any kind of affection to each other.
They have been married for over forty years. This should tell you something about them. They were a typical couple of living together, knowing each other’s wants and needs. They were comfortable together but something was missing. They loved each other but the affection was not there. Their relationship is what I called frozen in place. It needed a little thawing and guidance.
I took it upon myself to approach her husband who I have known for over thirty years with a few suggestions. I should never have approached him on such a serious subject while he was in the middle of listening to his favorite baseball game on the radio. But I wanted to catch them apart where my friend couldn’t hear my conversation with her husband. This was a private conversation based on my love for the both of them and wanting to see the ice melt and for them to rekindle their first years together.
I took a deep breath and suggested he hug, kiss, touch, cuddle and hold his wife’s hand during the day.
He looked at me and said, “Don’t worry about my sex life. Is just fine.”
I said, “I am not talking about your sex life I am talking about your life. I left him to mull over what I said and went for a walk with my friend.
When we came back from our walk he amazed me and his wife by walking up to her and giving her a hug and kiss.
He listened to me.
My friend was so amazed she didn’t know what to say. I said, “You can give your husband a hug and kiss back.” She did.
I asked her how she felt and she gave me a big smile. It felt so great. I felt like I had run five miles. After that they both made it a point to give each other a hug and kiss often during the day. The ice was broken.
Why was that so hard?
