I feel so grateful for my heritage. My mother and father instilled the principles of Christian living in me early. I watched my mother, who never preached a word, live the life of sacrifice and prayer. This taught me to be strong in the Lord. So many of my brothers and sisters are ministers. I also learned from them. If your name got on my moms prayer list, mark it down. Something had to give. She would fast for ten days without food, just drinking water until she heard from God. Many healings came about as an answer to moms prayers. This example led me and my household into a way of life that I tried to pass on to my children also. Then they have passed it on to their children. Not all of my grandchildren fast, but all hold the principles of faith very dear and are serving God. As you read this book, you will see that we are not stick-in-the-mud people. Sometimes we are silly! Sometimes we are sad, but we never leave the teaching of our heritage.

I have four children, thirteen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. We are following Gods command to Adam to multiply and replenish the earth! My hope is that as you read, you will laugh and sometimes cry with the Yarbroughs but will see the hand of God moving in each situation.
