Although Adam and Eve have been evicted out of the Garden, the world is still a paradise. The Border Wars have ended and Enoch has settled into a quiet life in the mountains far from the chaos in Nod. However, spiritual forces are conspiring against Enoch and all those who remain faithful to the teachings of Adam, the Firstborn. What begins as an annual pilgrimage to the Garden of Eden, quickly turns into a desperate battle for survival. Spiritual forces collide as Enoch and his fellow travelers are captured by the Cainites, only to be freed by a resourceful slavegirl and a gladitorial giant. Pursued by relentless enemies who are aided by demonically controlled dragonriders, Enoch and his small band race against time in order to save a tribe from the vengeance of Cain, all the while burdened with a cryptic message from an angel which forces him to continue on his pilgrimage in spite of the obstacles he encounters.
