Haunted Flutes is a story about a young man who became disillusioned with his life as an upscale defense attorney in New York. As a young boy, Jade had watched every western movie that came to his favorite theatre and with each performance had become more enthralled with the idea of one day being a cowboy in the great American west. Jade’s dreams followed him into his early teens where sadly he realized the dreams were unrealistic and for the most part, improbable. But once Jade had an actual taste of blue skies and wide open spaces while working a legal assignment in Arizona, he discovered that old dreams die hard. With sad regret, he informed his parents of his intentions then packed his bags, hopped a jet, and left behind a thriving law practice to find his dream ranch in Arizona. After encountering every problem imaginable, Jade finally found and purchased his ranch, only to discover that the ranch came with problems that were way beyond his expertise. Jade was suddenly beset with severe misgivings about his hasty decision to give up his law practice, but he had met the elusive Kyntonia Wakima who was not only hauntingly beautiful, but as it turned out she was also one of the biggest mysteries Jade had ever encountered… a mystery he felt compelled to resolve. Jade learned that Kyntonia was the mistress of the sacred tribal land known as Ni’Halgai. He also learns that someone wanted that land badly enough to kill for it. Jade was finding it hard to believe that any sane person would want the tribal land for any reason because it held no obvious viable value. What Jade didn’t know was that it was worth a grand fortune to one man who knew exactly what the land of Ni’Halgai held in its ancient province.
