We all worry about visits to out-patients. For some, such as people with an intellectual disability, there is the added fear of not being able to explain what is wrong, as well as not understanding what is happening. Bill has his broken arm x-rayed, put in plaster and finally his plaster taken off; Anna visits the ear, nose and throat department; Jane has an ultrasound examination.
