Were we created by a loving God, or are we just a simulation, mere numbers in a supercomputer that belongs to an insensitive super-alien?

The discoveries in the field of quantum mechanics describe a seemingly unreal world, in which elementary particles seem to behave differently when they are “observed;” also, says quantum mechanics, those particles (and allegedly even macroscopic objects, too) seem to be able to be in multiple incompatible states at the same time, until they are “observed.” And according to some scientists (like John von Neumann, for example), such an “observation” has to be performed by a conscious human being.

So it may be possible to argue in a scientific way that our material world seems to be artificial, and that its laws seem to be paying attention to what we humans are doing; but can science provide any information about a far more important thing, namely the identity of our Creator? Are we being watched over by a loving God, or by a cold-hearted super-alien?
