We are to labour for God’s kingdom—not simply follow Jesus. Christ had many followers but few disciples. The Synoptic Gospels record Jesus saying, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” This passage is frequently quoted, but do we deny self, take up our cross, and follow Him? It takes guts to follow the Lord, and glory comes after one’s service. In God’s Precious Children, David A. Darlington explores what it truly means to be a disciple. Do you have the guts to deny self, and become a labourer for His kingdom?

About the Author

David A. Darlington developed a hands-on, practical approach to ministry as a farm boy, a graduate of Ontario Agricultural College, Guelph; and years of dairy farming. Later, he graduated from Emmanuel Bible College (EBC), Kitchener; Canadian Theological Seminary, Calgary; and Tyndale Theological Seminary, Toronto. Ministering in Renfrew County and interacting with military families prompted his first book, God’s Tactical Unit (Winnipeg, Word Alive Press, 2013). In recognition, EBC Alumni Association and Academic Council awarded him the Delta Epsilon Chi award for intellectual achievement, Christian character, and leadership ability. His foci are ministry, studying, teaching, and writing.
