Katherine Mansfield is a great New Zealand and British novelist writer, the most famous writer in New Zealand. Firstly published in the age of nine were brief stories which appeared in magazines «High School Reporter» and «Wellington Girls' High School magazine», in 1898 and 1899. Mansfield was greatly influenced by Chekhov's prose, discovered in 1909 and thereafter tried to keep this literary style. The basic feature of Katherine Mansfield as a writer was her writing language, clear and precise. She proved herself to be a prolific writer, and much of her prose and poetry after her death unfortunately remained unpublished.
