Andrew Lang (1844 – 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. The Andrew Lang lectures at the University of St Andrews are named after him. Lang was also a prolific author of works both fiction and non.
Geirlaug, the King’s Daughter is a fairy tale, included in the Andrew Lang’s Olive Fairy Book. The narrative follows a little boy, a prince, who was kidnapped by a dragon. But the giant worm failed to keep his prey and dropped the boy in a neighbouring kingdom. Its royal family brought up the prince as their own kid together with their daughter, Geirlaug. And they had a reason to keep boy’s origin in secret from him.  What shall happen with the prince of two kingdoms? Read and find out!
