David Gast is no stranger to cancer: Thyroid cancer in 1955, surgery and cobalt radiation Skin cancer since 1980, multiple surgeries and ongoing treatment Lung cancer in 2004, two surgeries and chemotherapy Prostate cancer in 2009, surgery and radiation Kidney cancer in 2012, two renal radiofrequency ablations The thyroid and lung cancers have been cured. The prostate and kidney cancers are still under the five-year post-op surveillance protocol. The skin cancer is ongoing. About the Author: David Gast, now retired in London, Ontario, taught music at Ontario Bible College (now Tyndale University College and Seminary) in Toronto from 1968-1976. He served with HCJB Global as a missionary in Ecuador from 1976 to 1982, and then returned to Canada as a worship pastor until retiring in 2007. His first book, also published by Word Alive Press, is "Musing and Muttering Through Cancer" which focuses primarily on his lung cancer journey.
