Gabriel Frank is tall, handsome, and in his words, built like a brick house. He’s charming in a naïve yet ruthless sort of way, and most people find it difficult to maintain eye contact with him. Gabriel is most of all a mystery, because he isn’t exactly alive and he questions if he is really human. Gabriel leads a somewhat isolated life in the San Bernardino National Forest. His contact with others is mostly limited to the eccentric man he considers to be his father, a slightly deranged older gentleman with a questionable past, and the girls from Madame Annabelle’s establishment. Gabriel’s existence takes on new meaning when he becomes friends with the local forest ranger and he develops an interest in a young woman from the nearby town. He begins a journey of self-discovery and learns the truth of who he is, and who he once was.
