When I opened my eyes I was surprised to see that it was Thomas Fowler, not Lydia Dawes, standing by the bed trying to get me to wake up. It was Dawes, Fowler’s wife, that I’d seduced and slept with the night before. Fowler was supposed to be out of town—trying to track me down so I could be arrested for the murder committed by an assassin who was really out to get me.
I didn’t miss a beat. “Fowler! How good to see you.”
I smiled up at Fowler, then I threw back the sheet that was covering my nudity. I spread my legs, holding my feet in the air, offering a place for Fowler to settle himself so he could easily enter me (it wouldn’t be the first time we’d rolled around in bed).
Of course, I didn’t really expect Fowler to just strip and make love to me. Fowler was angry. And no, not because he’d found me naked in his wife’s bed—Dawes and Fowler were a very sharing, open couple—at least with their bodies. Hence why Dawes had been so easy to seduce the night before.
But Fowler was pissed because I had snuck into his wife’s bed despite being his enemy, and I’d done it without giving a hint (or so I’d thought) to my true identity.

Evie has a rude awakening in store when she a cough interrupts her sleep while naked in bed. It isn’t the woman she slept with last night, Lydia Dawes, trying to wake her up. It is Dawes’ husband, Thomas Fowler.

That wouldn’t be so bad—Evie has slept with Fowler separately in the past—but Evie isn’t her true identity. She is an infamous burglar, the Wolf, who uses seduction to gain the trust of her victims before stealing their art and other riches.

To make matters worse, Dawes and Fowler are some of the best detectives around. Now, Evie knew that when she seduced Dawes. She’s currently a suspect in a murder case, for the death of the last woman she had intended to rob—though this time she’s innocent. She wants to use the detectives to find the real criminal, who is trying to discredit and destroy her.

Evie just wants to sleep with Dawes and Fowler at the same time, but that’s not going to work, at least not immediately. She needs to earn their trust (outside of bed), to convince them to help her tackle bigger enemies.

Warning: contains explicit descriptions of adult behavior.

Fun in the Den is part 2, following Illicit Art and Detective, Seduced, of The Wolf in the Sheep’s Den a novel to be serialized weekly. The Wolf previously appeared in another standalone novel, The Wolf, Seductive Burglar.
