The homilies in this collection were authored and presented by Dr. Fontaine S. Hill. In addition to his medical practice in pediatrics and later in child and adolescent psychiatry, he served for over forty years as a perpetual deacon at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion in Memphis, Tennessee. He felt a great need to correlate the Good News message with scientific, psychological, social, and biological concepts. He was an avid reader and enjoyed exploring new ideas in Christian theology as well as studying other world religions. He challenged the old school of thought and was committed to continually exploring the truth of God's love that gives hope and meaning to all life, regardless of where that exploration leads. He encouraged a search for and understanding of where the personalized human love of God can be found in our day-to-day interpersonal relationships and proposed that true resurrection comes when we resurrect the love shown in Jesus in our own hearts and our own minds in our lives together, as we travel life's journey towards God.
