From Dartmouth to War is a first-hand account of life as a Royal Navy midshipman during the Second World War. The book includes descriptions of the Battle of Matapan, the bombing of Taranto and the sinking of HMS Barham. Adrian Holloway was only 17 when he left the Royal Naval College at Dartmouth in 1940 and joined HMS Valiant as a Midshipman, sharing a gunroom with Midshipmen Terry Lewin and HRH Prince Philip.
