Levi and Isabelle Everett and their sons, Benjamin and Mark, together with Millie, the family maid, arrive on the shores of Western Australia in the spring of 1833.
On landing, Isabelle is taken ill. While Millie is caring for the boys and her mistress, she is helped by Samuel Murphy, a one-time whaler. Samuel's good deed is the beginning of a life-time friendship; he and Levi purchase adjoining land and plan to farm.
On the journey to their new life tragedy strikes and Isabelle dies in childbirth but the bereaved family must move 'Forward With Hope'.
During the following years, Levi's farm prospers and he re-marries. All goes just as well for Samuel. But what about the boys? Do their lives in the new colony pan out as easily?
This novel, the first of a series, is fiction based on some of the remarkable experiences encountered by the early pioneers who settled the state of Western Australia.
