To those who know him, William Powers is a sometimes abrasive, but mostly lovable guy. He's a stand-up family man who's honest, sharp-witted, outspoken when prompted, and passionate about his beliefs. But, he has one major flaw - the perfectly toxic mixture of incompetence and micromanagement he's had to endure at his job over the span of more than a decade, has caused him to become homicidal in his thoughts. He's pretty adept at hiding it from his wife, family and co-workers, but from himself - not so much.
Then, one morning, at the height of the busiest and most stressful time of the year - the Christmas season - his psychological unrest rises to the surface after being saddled with a ridiculously overburdened workload by his immediate supervisor, and boils over when she follows him to the street to confront him and keep an argument going that he was determined to leave at the office. After posing a threat of physical violence, he gets suspended and termination looms ominous if he doesn't play his cards right.
His labor representatives feel that the only way out is to lie about what happened, but he believes that the story of his mistreatment in particular and the mistreatment of everyone in general, should be more than sufficient in exonerating him. So, he has several battles on his hands - his superiors that want his job; his colleagues, who he feels is more interested in protecting management than him; his conscience, which refuses to simply leave him to the many devices that have been put before him; and most important of all, his natural instincts - which grow more and more bloodthirsty with each passing minute. How will he handle them all?
Forward Time Expired - a story about what a working man has to do to keep his livelihood, dignity, freedom, and sanity intact.
