Lady Elizabeth and the jester, Tarleton, confess their undying love for each other, even if they know that their union will never be accepted. Sir Robert finally catches up with them and there is a scuffle where Elizabeth is deeply wounded. They manage to escape and, despite her wounds, Elizabeth insists they continue on their journey. Both are filled with various emotions when they finally reach Hampton Court. Their meeting with the queen actually leads to even further unexpected consequences.
