Davy has an idyllic childhood in a Close by the woods until he is involved in a serious accident. His brother Adam does not survive and from that day Davy begins to live between two worlds; one in the present and another version in 1750 where Kane a Highwayman takes him under his wing.

Whenever Davy discusses evidence of a parallel town he is ridiculed and eventually sent to a psychiatrist. As he grows into a teenager he begins to spiral out of control losing faith in his friends, family and then Kane seems to have deserted him too so he leaves to travel the world, become a rock star and escape. As the distance between Davy and his old home increases and the new experiences absorb him he thinks he might be able to make it after all.

Twenty-Five years later Davy returns with a broken guitar, no money and a trail of misadventure that has led him in a complete circle back to where it all began. Now a middle-aged man he realises that to move forward he will have to finally face his demons on their own ground. Things may have moved on in Gallows Close on the surface but the past has been patiently waiting for him and it doesn’t take long before he’s wishing he hadn’t returned.

'Some things are better left buried.'
