Five Hours on Death Row

  Meet Brenda Botello, an attractive young divorcée and mother of two, struggling to get by. She falls in love with a promising professional, Michael Hoff, and a dream of a new future is just beginning. This dream is quickly shattered with the abduction at gunpoint by two men, who will put her through five hours of turmoil. Convinced this may be her last day; Brenda looks back at her life. Coming of age in a culture of poverty, she reflects on its impacts: the family dynamics of a father’s love, a mother’s animosity and a sympathetic aunt. She remembers a lost love replaced by an abusive husband, a childhood friend, and an adult mentor.

Discovering the truth about one of her abductors, it is Brenda’s faith in God and her belief in the power of prayer where she found refuge. This haven from a five-hour odyssey, however, has no mental relief when its final journey brings her back to where it all began.
