A creature from the outside crosses a presumably impenetrable border and enters the land of Fenmarsh. It is a place not dissimilar to your average open air toilet in the everglades. His name is Klepto the hunter, and he has a two-part plan:

Phase one: steal a thingy. It is some kind of artefact, talisman, objet d'art-call it what you want, it is certainly a something.

Phase two: cause a big scrap... because...when does anything in evolution NOT end in a big load of biffo?

The dominant denizens of Fenmarsh, known as marsh'ns, now have to contend with this Klepto fella, but they have spent their entire existence denying their own place in the world, and this insular nature, albeit successful until now, may well end up with a few unwelcome changes in the food chain.  The marsh'n dominance, thus far, has been down to a mysterious old marsh'n by the name of Mr Magnus Meantime, who has been constantly meddling whilst watching their backs. He too, has a plan of his own.

This plan involves Chek, a particularly gifted young swamp-dweller. And, after a meeting with Magnus, the pair set out to thwart the schemes of this outsider. Klepto however, has in his possession, something called the ankh of slaughter hidden beneath his typical archetypal long black robe... This is not good news for the marsh’n twosome! But, there are a few strange things knocking around in the great swamp to lend a hand, or even a tooth.

One way or another evolution will find a way! It usually does! And, this pair, along with a little help from some mildly eccentric friends, is going to have to save a way of life as well as an entire species.
