Marcia had taken a job at a horse farm for the summer to get away from her family and see what the real world was like. So she figured in her head. As of late, her and her mom had been at odds. When she answered and advertisement in the local paper for a ranch hand, she had no idea what it would entail except getting her away from the house for the summer. She felt she would be built for it with her athletics in track and basketball.
As she lifted the bails, she remembered when she was a bit out of shape and had not expected every bone in her body to be aching with in a week of working here. Sure it was peaceful and she got free riding lessons when there was time for such, however, there was rarely time. Sonny promised after the fair in town that he would show her around the acreage he had. He had over 500 acres to roam with a lake some where in the middle.
When she first arrived to Sonny's Dae she was shocked to see the man before her. He stood about 6'3", blonde hair that fell into his eyes, and a body that was well hidden by his wranglers and plaid cowboy shirts. He didn't have time to pick her up at the station so he sent his hired hand to come and get her, Mavis. Mavis did not speak much English and always looked down when he talked to her. She found out soon after Mavis came to Sonny after his family was sent back to Honduras.
She asked Sonny about the sign and spelling of Dae. He laughed and said it was thanks to Mavis. He was not sure how to spell day so he spelled it as Dae and the name just stuck. It was then that Marcia had started to really like Sonny, not because of his looks, because of his heart and soul. She had been on the ranch for over a month and wanted to stay longer than the summer, she wanted to make this her life. She had moved out of the guest house into the guest room in the main house.
