Farewell to Freedom is a story about a beautiful wealthy forty-seven year old woman named Cheyenne Stevens who files for divorce when her successful car dealer husband announces that he's in love with another woman.

Cheyenne Stevens flees to Las Vegas to get away from the heartbreak of a failing marriage. While there meets a handsome cowboy named Rowdy Harrison, forty-two, who's there to attend the National Finals Rodeo. They have a romantic interlude. He invites her to visit him in Freedom, Oklahoma.

Thinking she's in love with the cowboy she travels to Freedom for a visit; and eventually moves there trading a life of luxury for life on a run-down ranch in the country. Her expectations bear little resemblance to the daily trauma she endures.

They live together in a shabby, run-down bunkhouse. She grows tired of the meager surroundings building a lodge, restaurant and rodeo arena and opens a guest ranch attracting visitors from around the world. She doesn't expect it when Rowdy begins to share his loving ways with the lonesome, pretty female visitors who come to the guest ranch.

Rowdy becomes an alcoholic who starts his day with a beer in the shower and ends it with vodka at night. He drinks way too much and generously shares the good life Cheyenne's created with all of his low-life cowboy friends in the bar of the guest ranch. Overlooking Rowdy's multitude of misgivings, she accepts his faults and invests in his bucking bull business becoming a stock contractor for the PBR. They raise championship bulls and return to the Vegas for the NFR and PBR finals bringing their bulls to perform.

After thirteen years, Cheyenne's stamina, beauty, and money vanish. The love she once felt for the cowboy wanes, and she realizes it's time to get out of Dodge (Freedom)!

She makes a deal with a fast talker from Las Vegas to lease him the guest ranch. The restaurant burns to the ground and he flees back to Vegas leaving her in financial ruin. Shortly after the restaurant fire a Texan buys her 3500 acre ranch but has no interest in the lodge and 40 acres it sits on. The ranch sale puts money back into her bank account and gives Cheyenne the courage to close the lodge and drive away.

Farewell to Freedom is an action packed story describing many of the author's true life experiences. There's lots of country western music, rodeo action and cowboys. It's a modern day western saga that will interest both male and female movie goers. The story although it's unique, can be compared to great movie classics such as Giant, The Last Picture Show, and Thelma and Louise.
