Creating software is not as difficult as people think. When you develop software, it’s kind of like a map.  If you want the software to do something, you should know exactly what that is and simply state that.

If you want to create some software and you’re just starting out, my advice would be to create something that’s very, very simple.  I would even say to find something that is already made and spend $20 getting it remade at ScriptLance or Rent A Coder, where you can hire programmers from all around the world and they will bid on your project, and just go through the process.  Even after you do that, you still have something that you own.

If you have something that you own or bought before and you see that someone has already made it, you can look at it and step through it and see how it works.  You can mind-map it out. One thing that I suggest is, when you’re trying to figure out how you want your graphic interface organized, draw it out.  Grab a piece of paper and a ruler, draw a big box, start drawing other buttons, boxes, and windows; make it a diagram.  It’s kind of like everything we learned in grade school or high school with all of the charts and diagrams and outlines.  If you can do that well, then you can create a piece of software. Creating programs is really that simple.
