I knew I shouldn't have gone out that night.

But I didn't know the wolf would return. Silver eyes shining like beacons in the night, he hunted me down, claimed me and made me his own. He destroyed everything and everyone that I loved. He held me down and tried to make me break.

But I'm still whole.

I didn't know he would chase me. He didn't know I would chase him. And after 100 years, neither of us knew just how strong the bond would be when we finally stopped.

But I knew I shouldn't have gone out that night.

ETERNITY'S TOUCH is a dark and twisted tale of lust, unwavering desire, and a bond that never dies.

I knew I shouldn’t have gone out that night.

But Trevor was cute – too cute. He took my mind off of the grueling schedule of farm work. When he asked me to meet him in the cornfield that night I knew I should have said no, but something in the back of my mind told me to stop being so good all the time. Stop following the rules, and for once, do something bad. And maybe have a little fun at the same time.

The full moon crept high in to the sky that night, the air bitter and cool enough to prickle your skin within seconds of exposure. A creepy haze sat low on the ground and I knew something wasn’t right, but I crept out of our quarters and into the cornfield anyways.

The corn stung my skin even as I moved through it carefully. Everything looked the same from every direction, especially in darkness. Although I’d been in there a million times I quickly became disoriented. That is until I heard something rustle in the distance.

“Trevor?” I spoke, the volume of my own voice scaring me. I moved towards the sound and again whispered his name, before coming to a halt.

There was something in the distance. A pair of eyes shone from a few yards away and I froze. They weren’t Trevor’s, I knew that for sure. They were too bright and too low to the ground to be his – or to be human.

I gulped and my muscles tensed as it revealed itself to me. It was like a wolf, but larger in size with piercing blue-silver eyes. It moved towards me slowly and when I opened my mouth to speak I lost the ability to actually do so.

“Come…with…me,” I hear it say. It’s voice is deep and growling and full of non-human like vibrato. My heart jumps in my chest and I regain the ability to move, albeit slowly, and backwards.

“Come…with…me. Or….suffer,” I hear it say again. I’m so frightened that my hands and legs shake with fear.

I shake my head nervously and whisper, “No.”

“Then suffer….” it says.

I didn’t stick around any longer. I stumbled backwards before turning and running. The corn whipping my skin had never felt so good. I ran as fast as I could until I was free from the field. I glanced behind to make sure it hadn’t followed me and I saw nothing.

Still shaken, I sneak back into our quarters quietly. Mama is still asleep in her bed with father next to her – I breathe a sigh of relief at the comforting sight. I slip under the covers, close my eyes, and hear nothing but that voice in my head until the morning light floods in through my window.

Then suffer.

Trevor isn’t seen the next day. Or the day after. Three days after he goes missing his body is found at the edge of the farm, bloody and bruised from head to toe.

Everyone thinks he stole from a neighboring farm and was murdered at the hands of another landowner, but I know better.

Just as I knew I shouldn’t have gone out that night.
