Esther

The more I was with her, I found myself swallowed into a frenzy of sensation and awareness: the luster of her flaxen hair that fell in waves and strands dangling from her shoulders, the soft sheen to her skin and its marvelous tan lines, the blue flickers in her eyes that made me think of lazy summers and midday skies. She had a beautiful body, fuller than the models people fawned over on runways or billboards, fuller than the stringy sensuality most sought to emulate as they gushed over soft focus filters and magazines. Those models were just as hungry as the people they pandered to, starved for attention and affirmation.
