Edmund Dulac’s Picture Book for the French Red Cross is a stunning work, produced in the midst of the First World War, by a true genius of illustration. It was originally published in 1915, and contains twenty colour images. Dulac was a French-born, British naturalised magazine illustrator, book illustrator and stamp designer, who despite his increasing years, wished to help the war effort in any way he could.
