Doors Without Roses . . . has been published to help raise awareness of Domestic Violence, whether it be Physical, Mental, Sexual or Vicarious. This Collection of Poetry - Journeys Through Abuse - depicts the sad and often contradictory and confusing world of sex and love muddied by domestic violence and vicarious abuse.
A Domestic Violence Poem
The Silent Scream
Since we have lived upon this earth,
Stories abound of “Home and Hearth”,
Of “Love and Roses” round the door,
This may be true but there is more …
Alas, a dark side doth await,
It’s time to set the record straight.
There are tales of love and tales of hate
and they go hand in hand -
Violence and cruelty coexist
on the way to the Promised Land …
We see and hear the violence more
on TV, Radio, Media - sure,
But the silent rape is behind the door
of some suburban street …
You never know where it will be -
The Silent Scream we neither hear nor see . . .
