This book depicts the teenage mind and how many of them interpret life and circumstances going on around them. The difficulties that some adults have forgotten about or moved on from thinking like a young adult. There is an epidemic of bullying, conflicts with friends and peers, pregnancies, and suicide. With this book young adults and adults can sit down and have a conversation guided by the discussions in the back of the book. Remember we as adults must be ready to listen as well as talk openly and honestly, now many times the young adult will start the conversation if you just sit down with them without asking questions, and sometimes we may ask too many questions and they shut down, but if you just be there and let them know you love and care about them that would be enough. Please note the discussions are not the end all and be all, they are examples and suggestion topics only. Dont think that every child is the same, some may talk and others may close up, but plant the seed of love and understanding. You are not there to be their friends (dont be over bearing either) youre the ones guiding them through lifes journey, they might come to you for your opinion about some issues. Remember yourself at that age, lets not forget what its like to discover oneself.
