Domestic Bliss

Anna is a stranger in a strange land. She has been unwittingly plunged into in the upwardly mobile, claustrophobic world due to her husband Edward’s high-flying banking career. But while he is enjoying the ‘mile high club’ she feels lost, increasingly spending more of her time alone in her glossy, frigid apartment. Her sense of confusion is further enhanced when she ends up in hospital after witnessing a tragic accident and is befriended by an attractive young Asian doctor who offers her comfort in an increasingly cold climate.
She could once rely on the patronage of her high maintenance, glamourous friend, Carine, to offer her gin and sympathy but suddenly their relationship appears to be in crisis! What kind of partnership has her friend formed with Lou Gomez, and does this unholy alliance have anything to do with the sudden disappearance of Anna’s domestic servant, Filomena?
Anna’s privileged world is turned upside down and she finds herself engaged in a search not only for clues as to what happened to her maid, but also clues as to what happened to her self. Anna is left fearing for her life and she must look beneath the surface to uncover hard truths about the people she loves and world in which she lives in. Nothing is ever quite what it seems, and while it is only children who believe the demons live under their beds, Anna’s mounting fears are proving very close to home.
But as the illusions fall away and the frightening truth is uncovered Anna emerges triumphant; a brave new woman in a brave new world.
