From the depths of self-loathing to pushing love away, this is a bold account of one woman's detailed reflection of the consequences emotional emptiness of her childhood had on every aspect of her adult living. As a result of an unplanned pregnancy, Marla chose to peel the layers of pain and shame to cultivate compassion and acceptance of herself so that she could provide for her baby.
Then came marriage and all the fears, insecurities and defense mechanisms that rose to the surface. Through the unconditional support of her husband, especially through an out of town attachment that came to be, she was able to unbury herself from her painful life experiences, cultivate personal growth and healing and acknowledge true love.
No matter what trials and tribulations she had experienced, she knew there was always a way out of the hole of despair and anxiety. Making a choice to take responsibility for her life, encouraged new awareness, which in turn, changed her perception on life and allowed love to flow.
