In 2011 Derby Books produced Derwent Valley Walks' by Denis Eardley. When JMD Media were asked to make this book available as an e-book, we decided to give the customer a choice.

You can buy the whole e-book with all 10 circular walks and 20 linear walks for full price, or buy an individual chapter focusing on a specific area of the Derwent Valley.

Each individual chapter includes an introduction to the particular area of the Derwent Valley, 2 linear walks, and 1 circular walk which can be subdivided into 2 short walks. Each individual chapter also includes the original Introduction, The Walks and Important Notes.

The Derwent Valley is one of this countrys finest assets, both from the point of view of its heritage and magnificent scenery. Although only about 60 miles in length, it fills mighty reservoirs near its source, and has been harnessed to power mills and, most importantly played an outstanding part in the Industrial Revolution.

This was recognised in 2001, when the Derwent Valley was awarded World Heritage Status, the site running from Masson Mill at Matlock Bath to the former Derby Silk Mill, a distance of approximately 15 miles. It is the only World Heritage Site in the East Midlands.

'Cromford' invites you to explore a village of contrasts, with its lower half resting by the gently flowing River Derwent, and the upper half climbing steeply up Cromford Hill to Black Rocks, where there are outstanding views. Majestic as the scenery undoubtedly is, it is not that which attracts visitors from all over the world to Cromford, but the prospect of looking round the area where Sir Richard Arkwright built his cotton mills.

There are 10 individual e-books available in Derwent Valley Walks series.=
