What happens after the famous private detective Sherlock Holmes dies fighting evil Professor Moriarty at the Reichenbach Falls?  It takes time for the news to reach the general public, so desperate people still come to seek his help at 221b Baker Street. Holmes’ landlady, the indomitable Mrs. Hudson, and her Cockney maid Fanny-Annie Grubbins, take over his work to become The Detective Ladies of Baker Street.

In Death Holds a Séance , the Detective Ladies help an elderly couple involved in predictions at a séance given by Madame Zarkofski: a ‘valuable item’ the couple expected to find in a village cemetery wall is not there. The Ladies decide the medium is a fraud and vow to expose her. And so a twisting tale unfolds with a predicted death, a list of suspected thieves and our Ladies besieged in 221b by a gang of thugs. And the police giving them a hard time for being amateur detectives, made far worse in those patriarchal times by being female.
