When David Kayson, senior professor at Rankin School of Social Work, is found slumped over his desk with a knife protruding from his back, social worker and adjunct professor Addy van den Bos is accused of murdering him.

In an attempt to clear her name, Addy is forced to dig into Kaysons life in order to find his true killer and in the process, unearths shocking details about Kaysons conduct as a professor. Just as Addy is cleared of the charges, she discovers her beloved mentor, Natalie Cruz, dead from a blow to the head.
