Elly, unknowingly pregnant, runs away from an abusive husband and a cruel father-in-law and finds herself living in a small town in Alabama. Trying to make a new life, she is found unexpectedly by her brother’s new business partner, who happens to be someone from her past. He eventually convinces her to return to Texas, but the battle has just begun. Elly must learn to forgive, especially herself, and discover that depending on others is a part of life. Her independent spirit may be her downfall.

Jason is seeking a place to find himself again, and he believes he found it in Texas. He has depended on God this far and soon becomes the thread that holds Elly’s family together when she disappears. While he struggles with his own pain, he helps this family keep their faith in God and in Elly. When he unexpectedly finds Elly, he is determined to return her to her family despite how much she fights him. However, he quickly is plagued with guilt when he finds himself falling in love with her.

Can Elly forgive herself in order to accept the blessings with which God has graced her? Can Jason convince Elly that he wants to take care of her if she’ll only let him?
