Cyclopaedia

The world's largest institution is the Cyclopaedia, a collection of everything known and what will be known. The men and women who gather data, specimens, even experiences, are called Compilers. For centuries Compilers have lived by an Oath, devoting their lives to expanding and protecting the Cyclopaedia. But in a new era their traditions are threatened. A scientist working on a machine that would automate the tasks of the Compilers is missing. Two Inspectors investigate this disappearance, navigating the ancient political traps placed around the Cyclopaedia. Meanwhile, a Compiler who helped create the machine struggles to engineer a revolution for an alternate Cyclopaedia through a strange drug known only as 'Vermilion'.
